Events at the Santa Monica Place: Nike Training Club, SaMo Kids Club and More
by Cindy Ambuehl on February 3, 2012We all know about the new mall right across from the Third Street Promenade, the Santa Monica Place.
I’ve reviewed True Food Kitchen there and the shopping is just amazing. This week, I learned that not only are there amazing restaurants and shops at the Santa Monica Place, but also that the outdoor mall and its vendors host events.
One of the events that really sparked my interest is the Nike Training Club. Held at Santa Monica Place, the Nike Training Club is a “boot camp” like program open to the public. Nike says that “It’s a comprehensive, fully customizable program that allows you to create targeted workouts to meet a variety of goals.” You can check out the program every Tuesday night at 6:30 PM. For more information about the Nike Training Club and its other programs across LA, check out the Facebook page.
Here are some other events at Santa Monica Place that might interest you and your family:
- SaMo Kids Club: Every Wednesday at 11:00 AM – Bring your kids for music, entertainment and fun with host Ms. Claire.
- Otis Portable Parks IV Project: Through February 5, so hurry now! – The Otis College of Art and Design collaborated with The Getty to create the “Portable Parks Project”, a project based on sustainability that creates a garden style setting in Santa Monica Place’s Center Plaza.
- Magical Blooms Floral Classes: Every Tuesday at 10:00 AM or 7:00 PM for one hour – The Magical Blooms Floral Classes are one hour courses full of creativity. Magical Blooms teaches you names, techniques and styling to create your own floral masterpieces.
For more information on all of the events hosted at Santa Monica Place, check out the website. The Santa Monica Place is more than a mall and I can’t wait to go to some of these events.
What do you think? Are there any events you’re going to try out? What kind of events do you wish were offered? Let me know by leaving a comment.
