The Beckstrand Cancer Foundation: Charity Raises Over One Million Dollars to Aid Those with Cancer
by Cindy Ambuehl on November 9, 2011My husband Donald and I are two fortunate people. With wonderful careers and the most amazing children, we feel very lucky to be in a place of happiness. With this happiness comes the need to give back to our community and help those less fortunate. Donald and I are incredibly happy to support The Beckstrand Cancer Foundation, a non-profit organization that assists cancer patients in need.
Based out of Southern California, The Beckstrand Cancer Foundation has been a great support in lending a hand to those with cancer. The Beckstrand Foundation’s focus is on a patients non-medical needs and a way to support those with the financial burden that comes with cancer and it’s treatment. Their website states that their five programs “provide direct financial assistance, patient advocacy, supportive counseling, community resources, education, and life planning – enabling patients to remain focused on treatment and recovery, and encouraging families to stay hopeful, supportive and together.”
Two weekends ago, Donald and I attended their annual Diamond & Pearl Ball that my good friend (and their spokesperson!) Eva La Rue. I’m happy to say that the fundraiser was sold and a record breaking $1.3 million dollars was raised for those in need. You can check out a video of the event below:
Between my children, my husband, and my career, I always try to find the time to give back to not only my community, but also to those organizations that help people on a national level. I truly believe in what The Beckstrand Foundation stands for and have seen first hand the people it helps. It’s an excellent organization, and I hope you can get involved!
So now that you’ve heard about one of my favorite charitable organizations, what are some of yours? Let us know in a comment!
